Dr.Rajalakshmi Srinivasan

  • Dr. Rajalakshmi Srinivasan is a retired Sanskrit Scholar and a former Chairperson appointed by Government of India of the famous Sanskrit Research Institute Poornaprajna Samsoda Mandiram, Bengaluru, Karnataka. Rajalakshmi has given more than two hundred Kata kalakshebhams in different parts of India and all over the world. The subject matter of the topics includes Ramayana, Bhagavatham, Devi mahatmayam Puranas, etc. Her rendering of Ramayana episodes carry slokas of Valmiki, Kamban and Tulsidas. Her phenomenal musical rendering of slokas have been acclaimed to be one of the well-presented performances of the present-day artist. Dr. Rajalakshmi Srinivasan is one of India’s most eminent and renowned woman Sanskrit Scholar with mufti dimensional achievements well versed in Sanskrit Literature, Vyakarana, Vedanta, Linguistics and Translation with Proficiency in Many Indian Languages. She is a well-known and accepted Translator and also a well-known exponent of Kadha Kalakshebam. Translation of the Tamil Historical Novel Ponniyin Selvan, a pride of Tamil Language and Tamil People, into the Sanskrit Language has been acclaimed as an extraordinary contribution. Another milestone of her contribution is the Translations of the Gujarati poems of our Hon'ble Prime Minister Modi into Sanskrit and Tamil. She is also a Violin player of the Carnatic Music.

Ramesh Srinivasan

  • Ramesh Srinivasan is the prime disciple of Mridangam Maestro Sangita Kalanidhi Shri Vellore G. Ramabhadran. He is the recipient of the prestigious ​‘​Laya Kala Rathna​’​ award for the year 2007, by Sriragam Fine Arts, Chennai. Ramesh has also received the special recognition -​ ​Prof. T R. Subramaniam “best teacher” award​ ​at the Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana festival of 2016. In 2019, Ramesh was conferred the title "​Mridanga Acharya Mani​"​ by Charubala Mohan Trust (founded by Violin Maestro Dr. M. Chandrasekaran) in Chennai.
  • He was awarded the 1st rank in the preliminary AIR (All India Radio) Music Competition in the entire Southern Region of India in I984. Ramesh had his maiden concert in 1976 and has performed at Madras Music Academy and other renowned Sabhas in Chennai on several occasions as well as at numerous organizations abroad. Ramesh has the unique honor & privilege of performing in the​ ​inaugural show of Festival of India in US in New York State at Syracuse in 1986.

  • Ramesh has also performed in JugalBandhi, fusion & Jazz concerts with artists like Sangeet Samrat Chitravina Ravikiran, Sitar Virtuoso Ustad Habib Khan, Santoor wizard Tarun Bhattacharya Tabla Maestro Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri as well as Grammy award nominees Saxophone stalwart George Brooks and Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt and in Jazz concerts with Guitar virtuoso Fareed Haque.
  • Ramesh has researched and tried designing software named "Rhythm Generator” - with the goal of generating "rhythmic scores" for basic thalas, using simulation, modeling and AI (Artificial Intelligence) techniques as part of his B.Tech thesis in Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, India.
  • Ramesh has been involved in facilitating numerous fund-raising programs & charity concerts for various compelling causes and non-profit organizations, including coordinating a 13-city tour of North America with top-notch world class musicians raising funds for Sankara Eye Foundation (A non-profit organization which has done close to 2 Million free eye surgeries across the globe)
  • Ramesh was also instrumental in coordinating with IITM alumni association and performing in Fundraising program in 2016 for the Chennai floods, wherein Shri Sundar Pitchai, CEO Google International was the Chief Guest.   • Ramesh’s style is noted for sensitivity to music and highly proactive support. He runs a percussion school “Sarvalaghu Percussion Art Center” in San Francisco Bay Area since 1994 and today it is one of the leading South Indian Percussion Schools in North America having trained over 700 students since its inception. Today it has close to 100 students actively learning the Percussion instrument Mridangam at multiple locations with several students who are performing at a professional level in India and abroad. The first-ever Mridangam arangetram in San Francisco Bay Area was a student of Ramesh.

Srividya Ramesh

  • Srividya Ramesh started her initial music training under Sri.Chitravina Narasimhan, and continued her learning under various teachers for the past 30 years. She has been a teacher for the past 5 years and continues to learn. She has been performing and participating actively in many Bay Area events over the past 20 years. She has composed music and sung for “Tichi Goshta” a Sanskrit dance production in 2017. Smt.Srividya Ramesh lead the Namasankeerthanam event in Cleveland Tyagaraja aradhana in 2019, and has been invited to carry on the tradition this year as well.
  • Srividya Ramesh has been learning and performing classical dance for over 15 years, and has danced in many productions in India and in the Bay area. She started learning the Kalakshetra style of Bharathanatyam at the age of 6 in Chennai under the tutelage of Srimathi Nirmala Sairam, and has learnt from great veteran artists including the Dhananjayans, Sri.Adyar Laxman, Smt. Kalanidhi Naryanan to name a few. After moving to the US in 1995, Srividya continued working as an independent dancer and performed with Smt. Nirmala Madhava, Smt. Sundara Swaminathan and Smt. Savitha Sastry. Srividya has performed in major dance productions for schools including Pampa and Nrityakalya. Srividya has been judging dance competitions at OSAAT for the past 10 years. Srividya Ramesh has a natural flair of technical preciseness, graceful beauty and clarity of expressions in her style. She currently lives in the Bay Area with her family.

Ganapathiraman Viswanathan

  • Ganapathiraman is a senior disciple of Sri.Ramesh Srinivasan, founder and director of Sarvalaghu Percussion Art Center. He has been performing in various bay area programs and artists for over 10 years and is is blessed and thankful to his parents to introduce the art form at an early age.
  • Ganapathiraman also teaches at the Foster City, CA branch of Sarvalaghu Percussion Art Center. This branch was started in May 2010 and has been going strong since then. More details on the Foster City branch classes can be found here.
  • 2020 is a milestone year where the first student of Ganapathiraman will be performing a debut concert.
